RR vs SRH Live Score, IPL 2026 Eliminator: Sunrisers Hyderabad arrive with strongest batting numbers
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting numbers explain why many consider them favourites heading into the Eliminator. Abhishek Sharma has scored 563 runs this season while Ishan Kishan has added 569. Travis Head, despite inconsistency, has still managed 393 runs. Heinrich Klaasen has crossed 600 runs and remains among the most destructive middle-order batters in IPL 2026.
Together, SRH’s top four have repeatedly overwhelmed bowling attacks this season. SRH are unlikely to change their philosophy in a knockout game. Instead, they will continue attacking from the beginning, trusting their batting depth to compensate for risks. Rajasthan Royals understand this clearly. Their bowling attack, led by Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma, will need disciplined execution.
One poor over could shift the match entirely on this ground. Sunrisers also carry the comfort of having beaten Rajasthan twice already this season. That psychological advantage matters in knockout game. The challenge for SRH now is handling pressure because playoff matches often punish reckless batting. Still, based on current form and batting depth, Hyderabad appear one of the strongest teams left in the competition.
IPL Eliminator Live Score: Archer versus Hyderabad top order could decide eliminator
One of the biggest battles in the Eliminator could be between Jofra Archer and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s explosive top order. Archer has taken 21 wickets this season and has been Rajasthan Royals’ main strike bowler throughout IPL 2026. Out of those wickets, 11 have come in the powerplay, showing how dangerous he has been with the new ball.
Rajasthan will desperately need early breakthroughs because SRH’s batting lineup rarely slows down once set. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan have all attacked opposition bowlers aggressively this season. Interestingly, Archer’s numbers against them are mixed. Travis Head strikes at 160.6 against Archer but has also been dismissed by him three times in six innings. Abhishek Sharma has enjoyed facing Archer more, scoring at a strike rate above 177 and losing his wicket only once. Ishan Kishan too has largely handled Archer well, scoring 90 runs against him at a strike rate of 150.
Rajasthan’s strategy could depend heavily on whether Archer can produce another spell like he did against Mumbai Indians in the must-win clash at Wankhede. His pace, cross-seam deliveries and ability to attack hard lengths may become crucial on a batting-friendly Mullanpur pitch.
IPL Live: Heinrich Klaasen remains biggest danger for Rajasthan Royals
Even in a batting lineup filled with attacking players, Heinrich Klaasen has stood out for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. The South African wicketkeeper-batter has scored 606 runs and is currently enjoying his best IPL campaign. Klaasen’s ability to dominate spin and pace alike has made him one of the most feared middle-order players in the tournament.
Rajasthan Royals know that if Klaasen survives the middle overs, the game can quickly slip away from them. However, there is one interesting matchup heading into the Eliminator. Ravindra Jadeja has historically succeded to slow Klaasen down. According to available numbers, Klaasen strikes at only 100 against Jadeja in IPL contests. Rajasthan could therefore use Jadeja specifically during the middle overs to target both Klaasen and Ishan Kishan, another batter who has struggled comparatively against Jadeja’s left-arm spin. While Jadeja has not had a dominant season with bat or ball, Rajasthan would hope his experience becomes valuable in a knockout game. On a surface where scores beyond 220 have already become common, containing Klaasen even briefly could change the match significantly. Hyderabad’s batting depth means Rajasthan cannot focus on only one player, but Klaasen’s form makes him the biggest middle-order threat.

SRH vs RR Eliminator Live Score, IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals banking heavily on young batting core
Rajasthan Royals have largely depended on their young batting lineup throughout IPL 2026 and that trend continues heading into the Eliminator. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel have scored most of the runs for the side this season. Sooryavanshi has become one of the biggest stories of the tournament with 583 runs despite being only 15 years old. Jurel too has been important with 458 runs while Jaiswal has contributed 397.
Rajasthan’s qualification race remained alive largely because of their top-order aggression. However, there are concerns too. Captain Riyan Parag has struggled for consistency despite showing flashes of attacking batting. Against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan will need at least one substantial partnership because SRH’s batting strength often forces opponents to chase big totals.
Royals coach Kumar Sangakkara admitted limiting SRH to small scores is unrealistic. He said, "We have got to hold the line, really. Be disciplined and understand that they're not a side that you're going to limit to 120, 130." Rajasthan’s challenge therefore may not just be about wickets but controlling momentum. Their batting group has shown they can chase huge scores, but doing so in a knockout match against an in-form SRH attack presents a different pressure altogether.
RR vs SRH Live Score, IPL 2026: Pat Cummins returns changed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s season
Sunrisers Hyderabad looked inconsistent in the first half of IPL 2026 but their campaign completely changed after Pat Cummins returned to lead the side during the final seven league games. SRH won five of those matches and suddenly emerged as one of the strongest teams. Cummins’ leadership and bowling control helped stabilize a side that was struggling for rhythm.
Hyderabad now head into the Eliminator carrying momentum and psychological advantage, having already beaten Rajasthan Royals twice earlier this season. Their batting unit has been among the most dangerous in the competition. Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen have all delivered major performances this year. Klaasen especially has been in exceptional touch with 606 runs in what has become his best IPL season.
SRH’s confidence also comes from their ability to consistently post massive totals. The Mullanpur ground has already seen scores beyond 220 multiple times this season. Hyderabad’s approach remains simple — attack constantly and force opposition bowlers under pressure. Rajasthan Royals coach Kumar Sangakkara admitted the challenge while saying, "They're a good side, aren't they? They bat well. They trust themselves to go hard and they've done it the whole tournament." SRH now stand one win away from Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans.
SRH vs RR Live Score, IPL 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi faces biggest test against Sunrisers
Rajasthan Royals enter the IPL 2026 Eliminator with plenty of momentum but also with the pressure of knowing that one defeat will end their campaign. Much of the attention before the game is around 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, whose fearless batting has changed the mood around Rajasthan in the second half of the tournament.
The teenager has already scored 583 runs this season and has repeatedly attacked some of the best bowlers without hesitation. Now, he faces arguably the strongest batting unit of the season in Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH have already defeated Rajasthan Royals twice in the league stage and will carry confidence into the knockout clash. But Rajasthan believe they finally have the balance to challenge them.
Alongside Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel have contributed heavily at the top. The concern for Royals remains consistency in middle overs and whether their bowling attack can hold nerve against SRH’s aggressive approach. The Mullanpur surface has produced several high-scoring games this season, meaning another batting-heavy contest could be expected. Rajasthan’s hopes may once again depend on whether Sooryavanshi can produce another fearless powerplay performance under pressure.

Sunrisers have been among the strongest batting sides of the season and Rajasthan Royals head coach Kumar Sangakkara was asked about plans to stop their top order.
"They're a good side, aren't they? They bat well. They trust themselves to go hard and they've done it the whole tournament. We have got to hold the line, really. Be disciplined and understand that they're not a side that you're going to limit to 120, 130. But we've got to be aggressive (with our) lines and lengths.
"Even if you're trying to bowl a good length ball, or a slower ball, it has to be bowled with intent. With the Sunrisers, yeah, it's going to be a tough clash for us. Let's see in two days' time what we come up with," Sangakkara said after sneaking into the play-offs.
Royals will again depend heavily on Jofra Archer, who has taken 21 wickets this season. Archer produced a strong spell in the must-win match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede and will be expected to deliver again in the powerplay.
Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma have also contributed at different stages of the tournament.
Young leg-spinner Yash Raj Punja has emerged as the preferred spinner ahead of Ravi Bishnoi in his debut IPL season, while Ravindra Jadeja will be expected to contribute more with both bat and ball.
At the top, Sooryavanshi is expected to continue his attacking style even against bowlers like Cummins, leading wicket-taker Eshan Malinga (19 wickets) and Sakib Hussain. If the teenager gets going early, he could put SRH under pressure quickly.
Another young wrist spinner, Shivang Kumar, has also impressed for Sunrisers in the middle overs.
The Mullanpur Stadium has generally produced high-scoring matches this season. In four league games played there, totals of more than 220 were scored three times, including Punjab Kings’ 254.
